Dentistry for Cats & Dogs

When your dog or cat requires dental treatment, whether a scale and polish of teeth or extractions, a general anaesthetic is required. This allows the vet to visualize any abnormalities in the mouth such as gingivitis, fractures, resorptive lesions, tumours or exposed tooth roots, and to extract teeth if required. At the clinic we use a modern IM3 powered dental machine to ultrasonically scale & polish the teeth. We also have dental readiography if required. The anaesthetic is monitored by a trained veterinary nurse using the equipment described for surgery. All patients receiving dental care have antibiotics and pain relief where indicated.

A follow up dental check is also included 7-10 days after a dental procedure.

Our aim with dental disease is prevention and our vets and nurses are always happy to discuss dental care and advice on which preventative treatments are best for your pet.
